IN-COR-RI-GI-BLE: The Legend of Thundervoice
The following cast and crew came together for November 11-13, 2022 to create a public performance and livestream event of Josh's new play, IN-COR-RI-GI-BLE: The Legend of Thundervoice. This showcase marked the thesis project of Josh's MFA in Theatre Practices at the University of Alberta. This presentation was made possible with the incredibly generous support of the Blyth Festival, Fringe Theatre, and Workshop West Playwrights' Theatre.

Lora Brovold
Angel
Lora is thankful to make her home and practice her craft here in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton). She has worked with the Citadel Theatre (The Fiancée, Sweat, A Few Good Men, A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Theatre Network (Bust, Let the Light of Day Through), Shadow Theatre (Circle Mirror Transformation, The Liars, Three Days of Rain), Workshop West Theatre (The Invention of Romance, Tell Us What Happened), Northern Light Theatre (Fat Pig, Mo and Jess Kill Susie, Heroines, The Ugly Duchess), Freewill Players, Theatre Yes, Azimuth Theatre, Concrete Theatre, and many of our community’s excellent independent companies. Lora is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s BFA Acting Program.

Adam Bucyk (He/Him)
Sound Operator
Adam works as a freelance theatre technician at many different venues including The Fringe Grounds, Leduc McLab Centre, St Albert Arden Theatre and many more. He has worked on many shows and events throughout his career doing mainly sound, lighting, and video. Recent productions and shows include Grease the Musical, 9 to 5 the Musical, and Mary Walsh. In his free time Adam enjoys woodworking, skiing, working on his model train layout and hanging out with friends. Adam plans to keep working as a freelance technician and providing technical assistance for whatever show comes his way.

Collin Doyle
Michael/Sean
Collin is an Edmonton based writer and actor. As an actor, Collin has worked at the Citadel Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, Workshop West Theatre, Azimuth Theatre, Theatre Network,and with The Bedlam Theatre Concern. Collin performed in the world premiere production of Mary’s Wedding and the Canadian Premiere production of The Pillowman. He received a Sterling Award (Fringe category) for his performance in Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story. In 2018, NeWest Press published a collection of Collin’s plays, The Mighty Carlins and Other Plays. Collin is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada.

Heather Inglis
Director
Heather took the helm of Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre as Artistic Producer in November 2019. A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Heather is an award-winning director, producer, and dramaturg whose career has taken her across the country. In 2019, Heather was nominated for the Playwrights’ Guild of Canada’s Bra D’Or Award, recognizing her support and promotion of Canadian women playwrights via Theatre Yes. Heather has directed and assistant directed over 40 productions, many of which have been new Canadian works. Credits include: The Shaw Festival, Citadel Theatre, Workshop West Theatre, Northern Light Theatre, Azimuth Theatre, Theatre Junction, Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre (SK), Live Five (SK), The Doppler Effect Productions (NS), Alberta Playwrights Network, Saskatchewan Playwrights' Centre, Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre, The Notable Acts Festival (NB) and Universities in Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon. Heather has received Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Award (2014) for her work at Theatre Yes, the Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund (twice), the Celebration of Women in the Arts Award (twice), and the Telus Courage to Innovate Award (Edmonton). Nine of Inglis’ productions have been nominated for 17 Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards, including 7 nominations for Outstanding Independent Production and nominations for Outstanding Director and Outstanding Fringe Director. Theatre Yes received a special Sterling Award for Outstanding Innovation in Theatre (2014).

Josh Languedoc
Playwright and MFA Theatre Practice Candidate
Josh Languedoc is a proud member of Saugeen First Nation and lives as a guest in Treaty 6 Territory as an Anishinaabe playwright, producer, storyteller, and teacher. Since 2018, Josh has been touring his solo performance Rocko and Nakota: Tales From the Land to theatres and festivals all across Turtle Island. Some of Josh’s other plays include Feast (University of Alberta, Fringe 2021), CIVIL BLOOD: A Treaty Story (Thou Art Here Theatre), The Eyes Of Spirits (Rubaboo Festival, Native Earth Performing Arts, Citadel Theatre), and IN-COR-RI-GI-BLE: The Legend of Thundervoice (Blyth Festival, University of Alberta). Josh also teaches around the Edmonton area with the Citadel’s Foote Theatre School, Edmonton Public Schools, Artstrek, Northern Alberta YMCA, and runs the teen playwriting program #WritesOfPassage at Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre. Josh has most recently worked as the Director Indigenous Strategic Planning at Edmonton Fringe Theatre providing strategic planning guidance for the Indigenization of the company as well as curating the all-Indigenous pêhonân Series at the Festival. Josh is currently finishing his MFA in Theatre Practices at the University of Alberta. Catch Josh on tour around Turtle Island in the hit Indigenous parody musical Bear Grease where he plays the role of Sonny Boy.

Danielle LaRose

Danielle is a multi-disciplinary artist of Métis/Mennonite heritage currently working in Amiskwacîswâskahikan, colonially known as Edmonton. After obtaining her MA from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she worked on stage and in film across the UK with a particular focus on classical performance and music composition for theatre. Since returning to Canada, she has continued working as a performer/musician, and has also expanded her practice as aen koonteur (Michif for storyteller) into directing and playwrighting. Some recent and upcoming projects include: Ayita (Composer/Sound Designer, Skirtsafire Fest.), The Amazonomachy (Playwright/Director, Tiger's Hearts Collective) Omisimawiw (Director, RISER Fest.), emaci nehiyawewin (Composer/Sound Designer, Sandra Lamouche), No Woman's Land (Performer/Co-Director, Tiger's Hearts Collective), and The Poisoner's Daughter: Song of a Rougarou (Playwright, Pemmican Collective). After working on IN-COR-RI-GI-BLE for WWPT's Springboard's Festival last spring, she is delighted to return to this story and celebrate Josh Languedoc's amazing achievement. Paul Morgan Donald
Musician
Paul Morgan Donald is a musician, singer, composer, actor, writer and director. As a theatre composer/lyricist, Paul's credits include over 20 original musicals including The Adventures of Wanda and Jack [co-written with partner Michele Fleiger]; Kink! a musical about the life and times of 1950's pinup queen Bettie Page; Remoka Rink, a musical look at life around a small town hockey rink, with book by Conni Massing; Marg Skaluba/Pissy's Wife - script by Ron Chambers; and Reefer Madness: the Musical (script Adrian Lackey). Paul has also created original scores and sound designs for the Free Will Shakespeare Festival, the Citadel Theatre, Shadow Theatre, Workshop West, and other theatres across Western Canada, and appeared as both an actor and musical performer at many of the same theatres. Paul performs as a musical improvisor with Die-Nasty, Rapid Fire Theatre, Grindstone Theatre, Atomic Improv and White Rhino Comedy.

Selina Painchaud (She/Her)
Livestream Operator
Selina is an Edmonton-based theatre technician, programmer, and technical operator. She is the current Technical Director with Edmonton Fringe Theatre and has been a part of the theatre industry since 2014. Most days she can be found helping facilitate incredible art, with a cup of coffee in her hand.

Sheldon Stockdale

Sheldon Stockdale is a recent graduate from the BFA - Acting program at the University of Alberta. His recent credits include “Fags in Space” and “Bear Grease”. He is grateful to be able to work on all kinds of amazing work with all kinds of amazing people.

Kenneth T. Williams
Dramaturg and Thesis Advisor
Kenneth T. Williams’ professional path is a “guidance counselor’s nightmare.” He’s been a soldier, rock musician, journalist, First Nations land claims researcher, and door-to-door encyclopedia salesman. He’s now an assistant professor of Drama at the University of Alberta.
As a journalist, he was a member of the very first news team for the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network. His plays, The Herd, In Care, Café Daughter, Gordon Winter, Thunderstick, Bannock Republic, Street Corner Playwright, Suicide Notes and Three Little Birds have been produced across Canada. As a dramaturg, he has helped many playwrights at all levels develop their plays. He lives in Edmonton with his partner, Dr. Melissa Stoops, with their cats, Augustus and Drusilla. He is a member of the George Gordon First Nation in the Treaty 4 territory.
