Elon Muskrat

Josh Languedoc is thrilled, nervous, and empowered to return to the world of oral storytelling in his new play "Elon Muskrat." Josh is a proud member of Saugeen First Nation and is happy to live as a guest in Treaty 6 Territory. Josh is a Sterling-nominated playwright/director/producer that is driven to tell compelling and challenging stories that uplift the Indigenous diaspora. Josh's play
"Rocko and Nakota: Tales From the Land" has toured across the country and been published.

Later this season, you can see Josh assistant directing Annie the Musical (St. Albert Children's Theatre), producing Connections//Collisions (Mile Zero Dance) and the Heritage Village (Silver Skate Festival), reuniting with his pals at Go 4 Broke Improv, and getting some new writing projects off the ground. Josh can also be found teaching at Concordia University, Caraway School, and the Citadel Theatre.

In March, Josh will also have the pleasure of playing the role of Fritz the Katz  in Tomson Highway's Rose premiering at the National Arts Centre Indigenous Theatre.

Kenneth T. Williams is a Cree playwright from the George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan’s Treaty 4 territory, and is the first Indigenous person to earn an M.F.A. in playwriting from the University of Alberta. His plays have been produced across Canada; they include Care, Café Daughter, Gordon Winter, Thunderstick, Bannock Republic, Suicide Notes and Three Little Birds. He teaches in the drama department of the University of Alberta. He lives in Edmonton, where he puts his personal and professional experience to good use as an active member of the local theatre community.

​Charlie Peters (ze/hir/hirs) is a theatre and opera director, actor, lighting designer, playwright, dramaturge, poet, arts educator, and clown based on Treaty 6 Territory. Hir artistic work has been seen on stages (and in parks, fields, school gyms, living rooms, town squares, art galleries, and swimming pools) across Canada and in Europe. Ze holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Saskatchewan, an MFA in Theatre Practice and an MA in Gender and Social Justice Studies from the University of Alberta, and has trained extensively at the Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance. Ze is the recipient of Saskatoon and Area Theatre Awards for Outstanding Emerging Artist (2013) and Outstanding Lighting Design (Two Corpses Go Dancing, 2015), having been nominated for Outstanding Direction (Diana Son’s Stop Kiss, 2014) and Outstanding Original Script/Excellence in New work (Many Fires, 2019; Oblong and Oboe Stir The Pot, 2024). Charlie is Founding Director of Embrace Theatre and Folk Trail and Live Theatre Coordinator of the Silver Skate Festival where hir projects have been nominated for multiple Sterling Awards. Hir scholarly work has been published in Theatre Research in Canada, Canadian Theatre Review, Comedy Studies, Journal of Contemporary Drama in English, Dramaturgy and History: Staging the Archive (Routledge), and on HowlRound. Hir artistic work is anthologized in This Is Beyond: A Time Capsule of Queer Experience (Playwrights Canada Press) and Poetry All Over The Floor (Tonight It’s Poetry Press). www.charliepeters.ca
